Ministries In CBC

  • Singles Ministry - Not your ordinary Singles' event. Undeniably the area for you if indeed you are single and set apart! Under the leadership of Sis. Gerri Thomas - they boldly proclaim they are living single and not any way but God's way. Free from condemnation, redeemed from sin and filled with the Holy Spirit! They may be living single, but definitely not lonely. Whether you are a member of CBC or desire to be part of a ministry that will enhance your Spiritual life, come and fellowship with them Every 3rd Friday at 6:00 pm.
(Although we would love for you to be part of our CBC Family, it is not a necessity to be part of this dynamic ministry)
  • Marriage Ministry - Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (Genesis 2:24). Only scripture would give this ministry it's suitable justification as well as give the name ASONE true meaning.. When planning this ministry, Brother Chris and Sister Nicole Simien decided they would accept the mandate to follow Pastor Alexander's teachings of Covenant Marriages demanding that husbands and wives draw nigh unto God, creating true unity within the family. This is yet another ministry within CBC that is open to any married couple. It may be an old cliché' but one that has proven to be true; "A Family that prays together, stays together." (Check the Agenda for any and all updates)
  • Women's Ministry - Monday Night Madness has nothing on this! On the 2nd Monday of the month, First Lady Edriena Alexander takes the word, by the power of the Blood of Jesus and delivers it with such compassion - brokenness is immediately converted into wholeness. Depression is instantaneously transitioned into joy. She humbly yet boldly teaches the Word just as Pastor Alexander without compromise. It is on this night, mighty women of God realize, God has truly blessed CBC with gifts!
  • Men’s Ministry - Definitely at CBC, you see there is still Good Men!  The Men at CBC diligently work parallel to Pastor Alexander’s vision of Meeting the Needs of People, whether it is within the Laymen and Brotherhood Department or the Deacon’s Department.  Every Sunday at 10:15am they meet for An Upper Room experience.  As well as every Tuesday after SECOND SUNDAY at 7:00 pm. Truly brothers, if you haven’t attended as of yet; consider.
  • Evangelism Ministry - And they went out, and preached that men should repent (Mark 6:12).  Not your message of condemnation, but a Word of edification as well as conviction – to make a better Christian.  Brother Harry St. Mary leads this team in areas that may go unnoticed on the average day.  It is this team that ministers to the person who comes for prayer during Wednesday nights or Sunday Morning Worship Services, not to mention the many lives they touch during CBC’s Annual Vacation Bible School.   They are such a blessing not only to CBC, but Southwest Louisiana.
  • Angels of Praise - When David danced unto the Lord, he understood the importance of praising God in a peculiar way. The sisters of CBC share this same vision. Sister Kimberly Lartigue exquisitely guides the ladies of CBC while they minister during Worship Services creating an Angelic Ambiance, thus validating their name. One can only wonder if this is a direct reflection of how the Angels rejoice when one gives their life to Christ (Luke 15:10).   The highlight of this ministry is how their anointing trickled down to our female teenagers and pre-teens, demanding they too be allowed to minister by dance. This is how the evolution of Motions of Praise and Vessels of Praise began, because the older ladies were examples for the younger girls.  They are truly Angels of Praise.
  • Music Ministry – Used to set the atmosphere to allow the Word to penetrate the hearts and minds of God’s people.  Sister Penny Gillespie and her Music Ministry Team allow God to use them while selecting songs to help usher the CBC family and visitors into the presence of God.  Whether you have been blessed with an anointed voice or have a pure heart to make a joyful noise unto the Lord, this just may be the ministry for you.  This ministry oversees various choirs for different Sundays.  Please see the agenda section for information regarding the choir you are part of or the one you may want to join.
  • Prison Ministry - Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  Meeting the Needs of People becomes love in action with this ministry.  Sister Tammy LaSalle, along with the Prison Ministry Team goes and ministers to the man and woman who may have made mistakes in their life and wraps their love and concern in the Word of God.  They create a setting of love and validation.  Special people meeting special needs.
  • Dorca's Food Pantry – Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother Deuteronomy 16:11. Food will be distributed on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. 5 - 6pm North Campus, open to the community.  A place where there is no judgment, just food; for the body and the spirit.  More than any, it is confidential and consistent with the word and vision of our Pastor, “Meeting the Needs of the People”.
  • Awesome Stomp Team – The awesome stomp team was organized as a ministry on June 20, 2002.  The ministry is under the direction of Sister Patricia Richard and Sister Debra Thomas.  The ministry obtains ten dedicated members.  Our purpose is to praise God through Stomp with anointed hands and fee. Foundation Scripture: "No Weapons formed against us, shall prosper: (Isaiah 57:17 Mission Statement: Reaching a new generation with a different form of praise.
